Why Now? In a post-pandemic world, weāre hungry for connection and community more than ever. Even more urgent is our need for a new model of organizing that moves beyond corporatism towards a framework that better honors humans and respects our world.

We are rebounding from isolation and craving connection and collaboration. We continue to spend more time, energy, and money on the self and also in community. We play in a corner of the āwellnessā industry which is significant: $1.5 trillion, with annual growth of 5 to 10 percent.

Creative collectives are leaner and better poised to experiment and innovate. While the ideals of decentralization and sharing risk and reward are not for all - that is O.K. One of the reasons why Moshavim have been over Kibbutzum is because they preserve a relatively large degree of economic autonomy for members What is shared are specific elements of support, access, and ownership - much more in spirit with how we sail our ship.
These signals are loud and clear: the time is ripe for a new way to organize in work and life.
The Shift
The creator economy makes us more lonely, judgmental, and isolated - constantly competing for attention on platforms we do not own. Meanwhile, self-discovery and inner work - often a solo affair - are best supported in community. Web3 technology gives us better protocols for participation and expressions of creativity, governance, stewardship, and accountability.
Values Alignment
A shared vocabulary of values, including co-ownership, co-governance, co-creation, and democratic work practices, is critical to expanding the creative power of our collective.
Accountability
Creating connections with others to co-think, design, and ritualize what matters most. This incorporates cultural intelligence and context to design more of what we want to see (and need) in the world. With a spirit of openness and fully transparent scaffolding - our most innovative and creative output can be released.
Multitude of Selves
We all have the capacity for a potentially infinite number of selves, each one a true representation of who we are (and/or wish to be). With the advent of new platforms - we can now give life to more of these sub-selves within a creatively rich community.
Hope over Hype
DAOs are platform cooperatives with a twist - there is less rigidity and more room for experimentation. Think flash mobs with some money. The key difference is decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) typically run on one token, one vote. (The integrity of the collective can get clouded by Tokens and NFTS) but letās not be fooled by any Web3 jargon and hype - because the return on trust, hope, and meaning in this new paradigm is real.
